Empower.Health - Sync App Instructions
Sync your steps with Apple Health, Health Connect or Fitbit
Participants can automatically sync their step count to earn points toward their My Empowerment Plan incentive program by downloading our easy-to-use Empower.Health - Sync app. This application is compatible with Apple Health, Health Connect, and Fitbit. Connect step-tracking devices such as iPhone, Android, Apple Watch, Samsung Health, Fitbit, Garmin and many more.
You must have an empower.health account to log into the Empower.Health - Sync application
Don't have an empower.health account? Sign up today if you have not yet created an account. You will need to enter the client code found in your program brochure. After clicking "Sign Up", you will receive an email confirmation. Verify your email to complete the registration process.
To sync your steps to the My Empowerment Plan, you MUST sign in with the same credentials used to access your empower.health account.
iPhone/Apple Devices - Follow the instructions below to sync steps from Apple Health or Fitbit:
1) From your iPhone/Apple device, go to the App Store and search Empower.Health - Sync.
2) Click "Get" to begin downloading the Empower.Health - Sync app. Once the download is complete, click "Open".
3) From the login screen, enter your empower.health username and password and click "Login". To sync your steps to the My Empowerment Plan, you MUST sign in with the same credentials used to access your empower.health account.
4) After logging into the Empower.Health - Sync app, select one of the following options:
Option 1: Connect to Fitbit
- To sync steps from a Fitbit, click "Connect to Fitbit". The Fitbit login screen will appear. Sign in using the email address and password associated with your Fitbit account.
- A notice that says "Empower.Health - Sync by Empower Health Services would like the ability to access the following data in your account..." will appear. We recommend selecting the "Allow All" option.
- To proceed with syncing to Fitbit, click the pink "Allow" button.
- Once Empower.Health - Sync has connected to Fitbit, your screen will say "Connected".
Option 2: Connect to Apple Health
- To sync steps from Apple Health, click "Connect to Apple Health"
- A notice that says "Empower Health Services would like to access your motion and fitness activity" will appear. To proceed with syncing to Apple Health, click "OK".
- The 'Health' screen will appear. We recommend selecting "Turn On All". Then, click "Allow" in the upper right-hand corner. Please note that only Steps will be tracked. Sleep and Workout tracking is currently not available.
- Once Empower.Health - Sync has connected to Apple Health, your screen will say "Connected".
5) Click on "My Steps" to view your step counts synced.
6) To view your My Empowerment Plan step points, log into the empower.health portal and select the "Incentives" tab on the blue navigation bar. You may also navigate to the portal from the app by clicking "Settings" and then selecting "Visit Empower.Health"
Please note that each app/device must be connected to Apple Health. Check app settings to allow permissions.
To sync steps to the My Empowerment Plan moving forward, we recommend logging into the Empower.Health - Sync app on a monthly basis.
Each time you log into this app, your updated step count will sync to empower.health and award points.
Android/Google Devices - Follow the instructions below to sync steps from Health Connect or Fitbit:
1) From your Android/Google device, go to the Google Play Store and search Empower.Health - Sync.
2) Click "Install" to begin downloading the Empower.Health - Sync app. Once the download is complete, click "Open".
3) From the login screen, enter your empower.health username and password and click "Login". To sync your steps to the My Empowerment Plan, you MUST sign in with the same credentials used to access your empower.health account.
4) After logging into the Empower.Health - Sync app, select one of the following options:
Option 1: Connect to Fitbit
- To sync steps from a Fitbit, open the Empower.Health Sync App and select the "Fitbit" tile
- The Fitbit login screen will appear. Sign in using the email address and password associated with your Fitbit account.
- A notice that says "Empower.Health - Sync by Empower Health Services would like the ability to access the following data in your account..." will appear. We recommend selecting the "Allow All" option.
- To proceed with syncing to Fitbit, click the pink "Allow" button.
- Return to the Empower.Health - Sync app and your screen will say "Connected".
Option 2: Connect to Health Connect
- To sync steps from Health Connect, open the Empower.Health -Sync App and select the "Health Connect" tile.
- Health Connect will open. Return to the Empower.Health - Sync App and your screen will say "Connected".
Helpful Hint: If the 'No Data Uploaded' notice appears, please follow the steps below:
1) Open Health Connect and click on "App Permissions".
2) Find the app that you would like to connect. We recommend toggling "Allow All". Please note that only steps will sync with the Empower.Health - Sync app. Other activity tracking is currently not available.
3) If you would like to connect additional apps, please repeat Step 2.
